Every aspect of this unique kitchen renovation was designed by us via our interior design service – our in-house designer began by reconfiguring the kitchen’s layout, transforming a space previously cut off by a peninsula island jutting into the kitchen’s centre, into an airy perimeter kitchen anchored by a large white oak clad island.
White oak veneered open shelving allows a combination of open storage and display without blocking the light from the bay window, while white subway tile framing said window draws the eye to the mountain view. The authentic brass and copper pendants are sourced from a 1950’s ocean liner from Texas, while the Norman Cherner stool reproductions in American Walnut add a welcome contemporary touch as contrast. The combination of flat slab and shaker cabinet profiles adds yet more interest to the soft grey and blue paint colours and the unlacquered brass hardware from Rejuvenation used throughout.
The end result is a kitchen that fuses traditional English elements with modern sensibilities and functions, making for a personal and charming space.
